Military might?
A big thank you to the US military for effectively telling every American not to visit London. As Londoners defiantly use public transport hours after the bombings, America demonstrates the same spirit that had them staying home in droves in the months immediately after 9/11. I’m sure the American citizens that live and work in London appreciate the support too.
As Tim Worstall points out, there is a word for this sort of thing. My hearty thanks to all the international travellers (which of course includes Americans) that refuse to be cowed by the terrorist action. Welcome to our country, I hope you enjoy your stay. If I meet you on the street (not likely in Coventry, it must be said), I’ll shake your hand.
